Description
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations and World Trade Organization based in Geneva. ITC's mission is to enable small business export success in developing and transition-economy countries, by providing, with partners, sustainable and inclusive development solutions to the private sector, trade support institutions and policymakers. In the framework of the “Programme d’appui à la promotion de l’entrepreneuriat en milieu rural” (PAPEUR) funded by EU Trust Fund Bêkou for the Central African Republic, there is a need to supply specialised equipment to the Central African stakeholders in order to pave/develop arable land in the forest for agriculture activities (farmland). In the first stage, the programme aims to develop about 15 000 hectares of arable land for 60 rural productive cooperatives being put in place in three rural agriculture productive zones of Kemo Lobaye and Ombella M’Poko. ITC has already purchased SONALIKA and YTO tractors, currently in use in the Central African Republic. ITC now seeks to purchase additional implements for them.
