Description

Description of requirements:

UNICEF Supply Division (SD) has since 2015 been leading the product innovation project ARIDA (Acute Respiratory Infection Diagnostic Aid). The goal of the project is to empower health workers in low-resource settings by making available easy-to-use, automated respiratory rate counting devices and bimodal respiratory rate and pulse oximeter devices that can facilitate management of children with suspected pneumonia per the WHO IMCI/iCCM guidelines[1].

In order to increase availability and access to these new classes of devices, UNICEF is now requesting Expressions of Interest from eligible suppliers in preparation for a solicitation exercise for 1) automated respiratory rate counters, 2) bimodal automated respiratory rate counters with pulse oximeter capabilities, and for 3) multimodal automated respiratory rate counters with pulse oximeter capabilities and one or more additional parameters. The products identified fall under the following categories:

Category 1:  Automated respiratory rate counter

Category 2:  Bimodal automated respiratory rate counter with pulse oximeter capabilities

Category 3:  Multimodal automated respiratory rate counters with pulse oximetry plus one or more additional parameters

Potential suppliers:

This REoI is addressed to manufacturers who manufacture products of these categories as well as wholesalers with experience in the sourcing and supply of medical equipment/products.

UNICEF is interested in receiving information on products that are preferably regulatory approved and commercially available, but also products under development.

It is preferable, but not a requirement for potential suppliers to have a website providing access to the product information.

Procedure for submission of EoI:

Interested suppliers are encouraged to complete the attached EoI form and return it to UNICEF by email to: Dan Ilie (dilie@unicef.org) with Jonas Karlstrom (jkarlstrom@unicef.org) in copy on or before October 7, 2019.  Please complete one form per product.

Please note:

  1. Prices are not required at this stage;
  2. This REoI does not constitute a solicitation. Submitting an EoI does not automatically guarantee receipt of the solicitation document when issued;
  3. UNICEF reserves the right to require compliance with additional conditions as and when issuing the final solicitation document;
  4. UNICEF reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the REoI and/or solicitation process.
