Description

BACKGROUND

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) through the Department of Teacher Education (DTED), is moving towards introducing digital learning at various levels of the education system. As a step towards introducing digital learning in connection with modelling of the Continuous Professional Development Framework for teachers, as well as to facilitate utilization of an increasingly digitalized EMIS, UNICEF is planning to provide 20 Teacher Development Centres (TDCs) with solar power.

UNICEF has already procured the solar system to be installed and the ICT equipment, which will be used for digital learning.  Also, a technical assessment of the selected 20 TDCs has been already been conducted. The list and location of the TDC’s and technical manual of the solar system are provided as annex to this EOI.

OBJECTIVE

The project objective is to provide 20 TDCs with solar power for digital learning purposes. To do so, UNICEF Malawi is seeking Expression of Interest (EOI) from qualified companies with a demonstrated capacity to install, commission and maintain solar systems in Malawi.
