Dear Sir/ Madam,
Please note that RfQ 25962 has been extended with a new closing date 18th September, 17Hrs, CET.
The following questions have been received:
Question 7:
The specification states the need to carry 250mL of liquid, what form of encapsulation will the liquid be contained in i.e. bottles, syringes or vials?
IAEA reply:
Actually all three ways of encapsulation possible, e.g.: bottles about 70% of cases(plastic and glass), vials about 25% of cases(with leak tight closing), syringes (with leak tight closing) approx. 5%:
Question 8:
The specification states solids will be carried within the container, what do you estimate the maximum weight of solid contents to be?
IAEA Reply
The max weight of solid content approx. 2 kg. However options with lower value could be acceptable.
I am looking forward to receiving your response by the indicated closing date,
Thank you and best regards,
Alexia Poriki

Regarding RfQ 25962 and following the message below, please note the following clarification:
Question 6:
if the ALU-Can is not airtight, can it be considered as inner container anyway, without being placed inside an airtight one? (reference to point 3.2 Technical Specification – Second Paragraph).
IAEA Reply:
The answer is yes , the ALU-Can can be considered to be a leakproof inner container, so it does not need to be placed inside of a separate inner container.
I am looking forward to receiving your offer by the indicated closing date, 2015-09-14, 17Hrs, CET.
Thank you and best regards,
Alexia Poriki

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Regarding RfQ 25962, please note the following clarifications, regarding point 3.2 Technical Requirements of the specifications document:
Question 3:
With reference to the Minimum Volume Capacity, is it mandatory to have no. 4 IAEA ALU-cans inside the container or is it allowed to place only one inside it?
IAEA reply:
Type A container could accommodate 4 IAEA Alu-Cans;
Question 4:
What is the weight of one IAEA ALU-can container?
IAEA reply:
Aprox. weight of empty Alu-Can is about 170 g. Gross weight could go up to 2 kg;
Question 5:
The IAEA ALU-can is airtight itself?”
IAEA reply:
It has a rubber gasket. If Alu-Can is proper closed, gasket is new and lubricated at can hold up to +-5% from the atmospheric pressure. But , no specific air tightness tests have been performed.
I am looking forward to receiving your offer by the indicated closing date, 2015-09-14, 17Hrs, CET.
Thank you and best regards,
Alexia Poriki
