Description
As an international inter-governmental organization with a global mandate, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is present in over 170 countries and operates public-facing and internal digital assets that support programme delivery, staff services, communications, learning, and collaboration. Understanding the diversity of its workforce as one of the aspects that make the Organization qualified to deal with the complex issue of migration, IOM recognizes the importance of accessibility to ensure inclusion of persons with disabilities and a more enabling working environment for everyone, in line with the requirements from the United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy (UNDIS) and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). UNDIS is a comprehensive policy and accountability framework aimed at promoting sustainable and transformative progress on disability inclusion across all aspects of the UN's activities.   The objective of this consultancy is to undertake a comprehensive digital accessibility assessment of selected public-facing and internal-facing digital assets of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), including websites, enterprise systems, digital platforms, and key digital documents. The assessment will identify barriers that persons with disabilities may encounter when accessing and using IOM digital assets and services. The project will evaluate compliance with internationally recognized digital accessibility standards and best practices, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1/2.2 Level AA and PDF/UA and accessible document standards. A Digital Accessibility Improvement Plan containing prioritized recommendations based on severity and use, implementation timelines, estimated costs, ownership structures, and monitoring mechanisms will also be produced based on the assessment findings, to support compliance with the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy - UNDIS 2.0 Performance Indicator (PI) 11 on Digital Accessibility.
