Description
Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) seeks an individual external collaborator to prepare an analytical paper for the edited volume “Voices and Insights on Social Protection and Migration in the GCC–South Asia Corridor”. The assignment will examine diverse and emerging forms of employment in the GCC, including de facto self-employment, platform work, “free-visa” and self-sponsored work, temporary agency work and outsourcing arrangements. It will assess workers’ social protection needs and gaps, shortcomings of existing systems and policy priorities for destination and origin countries. Migrant workers will be the primary focus, with explicit consideration of relevance to nationals. The work will combine a regional desk review, selected country examples, available data and targeted consultations, including worker experiences where feasible and safe. The main output will be an 8,000–10,000-word paper with actionable recommendations and questions for regional dialogue. The proposed duration is two calendar months, with exact dates and working days to be confirmed. Please submit your technical approach, relevant experience and writing sample, proposed workplan and working days, and financial proposal by the deadline specified in the advertisement. Thank you.
