Request for Expressions of Interest ( REOI) for the provision of "Technical and scientific support to the modernization of Kazakhstan's national locust surveillance, forecasting, and early-warning systems"

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) invites qualified organizations to express their interest in supporting the modernization of Kazakhstan’s national locust monitoring and early-warning systems. The assignment will involve developing and testing innovative digital monitoring tools, including UAV-based surveys, AI-powered locust detection, and GIS-based data integration. The selected Service Provider will also support field trials, data collection, technical reporting, and capacity development for national specialists. Activities will be implemented in locust-affected regions of Kazakhstan, with an indicative duration from February 2027 to April 2029. Interested organizations with relevant experience in locust monitoring, entomology, plant protection, GIS, remote sensing, or digital agricultural technologies are invited to submit their Expressions of Interest by 30 October 2026, at 13:00 CET (Budapest time).
