Description
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), through its Financial Operations Department (FOD), manages investment, treasury and risk-management activities in support of the Fund's development mandate. IFAD currently operates a portfolio of OTC derivatives under multiple ISDA Master Agreements, consisting primarily of interest rate and currency swaps. To mitigate counterparty credit risk, IFAD is implementing Credit Support Annexes (CSAs) and will begin the regular exchange of collateral with counterparties. As collateralization becomes operational, IFAD seeks to outsource the day-to-day collateral management process in order to minimize internal operational burden while ensuring robust controls, timely dispute resolution, accurate margin processing, and IFRS-compliant accounting support. The selected service provider will be responsible for the operational management of collateral activities, including onboarding, CSA setup, portfolio and valuation reconciliation, margin-call processing, collateral settlements, dispute management, reporting, and the provision of accounting data required for IFAD's financial reporting. The service is expected to be highly automated and capable of supporting daily portfolio and valuation processing, reconciliation with counterparties, collateral calculations, and connectivity to market infrastructure such as Acadia. The objective is to establish an efficient, scalable, and controlled collateral management framework that supports IFAD's growing collateralized derivatives activities while maintaining strong operational, accounting, and risk-management standards.
