Description
FAO invites qualified and experienced service providers to express their interest in supporting efforts to strengthen climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture in the Republic of Moldova. The selected Service Provider will work closely with FAO, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and relevant national and local stakeholders to support the development of an enabling environment for Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), Conservation Agriculture (CA) and Sustainable Agricultural Land Management (SALM). The assignment will bring together a range of complementary activities, including institutional capacity development, practical demonstration of climate-resilient agricultural practices, implementation of Farmer Field Schools, agricultural disaster risk management and early warning systems, knowledge sharing and dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and support to the implementation of relevant national policies. Through this work, the assignment aims to contribute to more resilient farming systems, strengthen the capacity of agricultural stakeholders and promote practical solutions that can be replicated and scaled up across Moldova. Geographical Coverage Activities will be implemented in five drought-affected rayons of the Republic of Moldova, to be identified and agreed in close consultation with FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. The selected rayons will provide balanced geographical representation across the northern, central and southern regions of the country. Selection will prioritize areas with high exposure to drought and other climate-related risks, while also considering their agricultural importance, active farming communities, accessibility and potential for the successful replication and scaling-up of demonstrated approaches. Indicative Duration October 2026 – June 2028 We welcome expressions of interest from qualified organizations with relevant technical expertise, practical experience and a strong understanding of the agricultural and climate-resilience context in the Republic of Moldova.
