Climate Change and Data Migration Programme

The "Climate Change and Data Migration Programme" project aims to address the interconnected challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, and human mobility in Africa, including in Egypt. The project implements key activities to enhance community resilience and effectively address the interlinkages of the abovementioned issues. The project seeks to empower communities to cope with climate change, protect migrants’ rights, and strengthen their ability to withstand environmental crises. IOM’s approach focuses on providing technical support and resources to enhance public awareness, equipping communities with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate climate-related risks. A key component of this effort is engaging youth and local communities, as their active participation is vital in shaping a more sustainable future. Through innovative strategies, the project aims to deliver tangible results by enhancing disaster preparedness, reducing risks, and fostering social and economic cohesion in an evolving climate landscape.
