The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been a longstanding partner in Jordan’s development journey, operating in the country since 1976 and working closely with government institutions, local communities, and international development partners to advance sustainable development and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over the past five decades, UNDP has played a strategic role in strengthening resilience, promoting inclusive economic growth, reducing inequalities, and supporting environmental sustainability across the Kingdom. Marking 50 years of partnership, UNDP continues to align its efforts with Jordan’s national priorities and the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), focusing on delivering scalable, financing-ready solutions that create long-term impact by placing people at the centre of development.

The objective of this assignment is to support SMEs and cooperatives operating in Jordan’s olive oil value chain to strengthen their competitiveness, improve business performance, and develop sustainable growth pathways through a structured acceleration programme. The assignment will focus on enhancing production efficiency, increasing competitiveness, strengthening investment readiness, improving sustainability practices, and supporting the development of bankable growth plans that can attract private and blended finance.

 

In close coordination with UNDP, this assignment will support the design, management, and implementation of an MSME Growth Accelerator Programme targeting a total of 25 SMEs and cooperatives operating across the olive oil value chain. The programme will establish a structured framework for business growth, mobilise technical expertise, deliver targeted capacity building and advisory services, and support participating SMEs in developing investment-ready growth plans.

 

The Accelerator Programme will be delivered intensively over a three-month period within the overall five-month assignment timeline, allowing sufficient time for programme preparation, participant assessments, monitoring, mentoring, and follow-up support.

All activities under this assignment shall be implemented under the overall guidance of UNDP and in close coordination with relevant programme stakeholders.
