Porter and Messenger Services

1. The main objective of this requirement is the provision of Manpower for Porterage, Clerical and messenger services for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and those of other offices described above in which when ECA need to provide this service. 2. The services will be carried out on a daily basis during normal/regular working hours from Monday till Thursday 08:30am to 05:30pm and on Friday from 08:30am to 02:00 pm. It is also envisaged that occasionally these services might be required during weekends and public holidays as well as beyond the normal/regular working hours. For example, during conferences and meetings, the services of the Contractor might be required well beyond the normal working hours. For this reason, it should be necessary that the Contractor would be able to offer its services during such times. Items that may require handling include but not limited to office furniture and equipment, heavy duty printers, stationery items, conference furniture’s and booths ets.The contract is based on management fee based. The Contract will initially be for a period of one year from the effective date of signing the contract and at the UNECA’s sole option the contract may be extended for two consecutive one-year periods subject to satisfactory completion of the tasks, up to a maximum cumulative period of 3 years. Specific Requirements/Information 1. Bidder must possess and provide a copy of a valid and renewed business license for porterage and messenger services issued by the relevant Government Authority. 2. No actual or potential conflicts of interest or other situations that could interfere with, make inappropriate or prevent the provision of the legal services to the UN, as set forth in the ToR.
