Expression of Interest for ‘Assessments to identify target communities, conduct SHARP+ field assessments, establish pilot sites, and develop awareness-raising knowledge products in project-targeted countries

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), intends to pre-qualify a group of organizations in a timely manner, and potentially solicit proposals from them shortly thereafter. The services/outputs being sourced are: • Identification of target communities through baseline and needs assessments. • Conducting SHARP+ field assessments in selected project locations. • Establishment of pilot demonstration sites showcasing climate-resilient and sustainable land, water, and ecosystem management practices. • Development of awareness-raising materials and communication products. • Preparation of knowledge products to support learning, replication, and dissemination of project results and good practices. All activities will be implemented in the project target countries, namely the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The selected organization(s) will support the implementation of activities under: Within the framework of the FVC/SEC/031/MUL project, “Climate Services and Sustainable Clean Water Solutions and Biodiversity Conservation for Resilient Agrifood Systems and Public Health in Central Asia: From Metrics to Impact,” services are required to support the implementation of technical, analytical, and capacity development activities in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The selected organization(s) will support the implementation of activities under: • Output 1.2: Climate Services for Decision-Support in Agriculture, Biodiversity, Health, and Water Responses Enhanced. • Output 1.3: Integrated Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Land, Water, and Ecosystem Management Practices Implemented. The assignment aims to: • Identify target communities through baseline and needs assessments; • Conduct resilience assessments using the FAO SHARP+ tool; • Inform and support climate adaptation actions based on assessment findings; • Establish pilot demonstration sites showcasing integrated climate-resilient and sustainable land, water, biodiversity, and ecosystem management practices; and • Develop awareness-raising, knowledge, and communication products to facilitate learning, replication, and dissemination of project results and good practices. The Service Provider will be responsible for delivering a package of technical, analytical and capacity development activities, including: • Conducting assessments to identify target communities and priority intervention areas. • Designing and implementing SHARP+ field assessments in selected project locations. • Establishing and supporting pilot sites to demonstrate climate-resilient and sustainable land, water, and biodiversity management practices. • Developing knowledge products, awareness-raising materials, and communication tools tailored to local stakeholders. • Organizing and facilitating national and regional training workshops, including Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes. • Strengthening the technical capacities of government institutions, local organizations, and community stakeholders on climate services, sustainable water management, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem-based approaches. • Supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform evidence-based decision-making and project implementation. • Facilitating stakeholder engagement, knowledge exchange, and cross-country learning among project partners and beneficiaries. • Preparing technical reports, assessment findings, training materials, and other project deliverables in accordance with project requirements. • Providing technical advisory support throughout the implementation period and contributing to monitoring, evaluation, and knowledge-sharing activities. Within this context FAO Sub-regional Office for Central Asia is intending to sign Letter of Agreement among Non-Governmental Organizations to be awarded with a contract for twelve (12) months.
