Procurement and Installation of PV Solar Systems in Jordan, Including Three-Year Operation and Maintenance Services and Spare Parts - Package 1

The Sustainable Development Goals and UN development system reform efforts, coupled with grassroots demand and Host Government and other Member State priorities, present the opportunity for an enhanced UNRWA programme of work that promotes the use of photo-voltaic systems and mainstreamed environmental sustainability efforts that satisfy the environmental dimensions of sustainable development. In view of reducing operational energy costs, enhancing energy security and resilience, and contributing to the Agency’s climate action and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction, the SMART Project supports UNRWA’s broader sustainability strategy and donor commitments through the deployment of renewable energy systems, energy efficiency measures, and improved energy management practices across UNRWA installations. As part of the forthcoming implementation phase of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems under SMART, UNRWA plans to roll out PV installations across selected schools and health centers in Jordan which provides services to Palestine refugees in camp at the optimum level. The proposed project will enable UNRWA to supply and install PV solar energy system for the targeted facilities with calculated capacity to cover all loads in sharing mode with the available grid electricity for efficient operation according to import all – export all methodology or as per the latest regulations applied by the date of awarding.
