SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE OF CENTRIFUGES AND VORTEX MIXERS

SCOPE OF WORK
General Obligations
The firm shall:
•    Deploy a sufficient team of qualified specialists to complete all preventive maintenance within the contract period.
•    Replace worn or defective components using genuine or manufacturer-approved spare parts only. Equivalent-specification parts may be used only with prior written approval from UNDP.
•    Use calibrated test instruments for all measurements and document all findings, adjustments, faults, parts replaced and post-service verification results.
•    Submit all reports, job cards and deliverables to UNDP (primary recipient) with copies to MoHCC Directorate of Laboratory Services.
•    Comply with facility infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols and applicable HSE regulations at all times.
Centrifuge - Preventive Maintenance
Scope: 158 centrifuges at designated facilities
Frequency: Once per year
For each centrifuge, the firm shall:
The activities listed below constitute the mandatory minimum maintenance standard. All activities shall be performed on every centrifuge unit. No alternative methodology shall be proposed.
•    Inspect rotor, rotor chamber, rotor lock mechanism and release for wear, cracking, corrosion and secure fit.
•    Inspect lid, lid gasket, safety interlock switches and automatic lid lock; test interlock function.
•    Inspect bearings for noise, vibration and wear; lubricate to manufacturer specification.
•    Inspect brushes and holders (where applicable); replace if below minimum wear limit.
•    Inspect drive belt (where applicable) for wear, cracking and tension.
•    Inspect electrical connections, power cable, switch and motor for insulation integrity and secure connections.
•    Verify speed accuracy at multiple set-points using a calibrated tachometer; adjust or calibrate as required.
•    Verify timer function and accuracy.
•    Perform imbalance detection test and verify safety auto-stop function.
•    Clean rotor chamber, lid interior, external surfaces and ventilation grilles.
•    Complete a post-service functional check under load and verify safe operation.
•    Record all measurements and findings on the approved centrifuge service checklist.
3.3 Vortex Mixer - Preventive Maintenance
Scope: All vortex mixers at designated facilities (quantity TBC — to be confirmed during inception site survey) Frequency: Once per year
For each vortex mixer, the firm shall:

•    Inspect power cable, switch, speed control and electrical connections for wear, damage and secure fit.
•    Inspect motor for abnormal noise, vibration or heat; replace brushes if below minimum wear limit (where applicable).
•    Inspect and replace cup head / platform rubber if worn, cracked or deformed.
•    Verify operation across the full speed range; adjust speed control calibration as required.
•    Inspect rubber feet / anti-vibration base for deterioration; replace as required.
•    Clean exterior, ventilation slots and platform surface.
•    Perform post-service operational check and record findings on the approved vortex mixer service checklist.
