Description

Gender equality is a global priority for UNESCO and an essential part of the right to education and Sustainable Development Goal 4, particularly target 4.5. Gender-responsive pedagogy helps teacher educators and future teachers identify and address bias in curriculum content, classroom interaction, language, lesson planning, assessment and institutional practice. Through its Capacity Development for Education Programme, UNESCO has supported Zambia to strengthen gender responsiveness in pre-service teacher education.

The purpose of the individual consultancy is to conduct an independent, evidence-based assessment of GRP piloting in the 5 colleges, document achievements, challenges and lessons learned this far and support each institution to revise its work plan for effective continuation and scale-up, including feasible synergies with FACE-NDC interventions going forward.
