Assessment of Gender, Skills and Employability of Young People (15-24 years) in Nigeria

UNICEF has now issued a Request for Proposals] in order to select a supplier for the provision of Assessment of Gender, Skills and Employability of Young People (15-24 years) in Nigeria. Provision of consultancy services to conduct an Assessment of Gender, Skills and Employability of Young People (15–24 years) in Nigeria. The assignment aims to generate evidence on gender-related barriers, opportunities, and enabling factors affecting young people's transition from learning to earning, and to provide actionable recommendations for strengthening gender-responsive policies, programmes, partnerships, and investments. The selected firm will design and implement a mixed-methods assessment across six states representing Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. The scope includes desk review and secondary data analysis, quantitative surveys (approximately 1,200–1,500 young people aged 15–24 years), qualitative research comprising Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), data analysis, stakeholder validation, and preparation of knowledge products. Key deliverables include an inception report and research protocol, data collection tools and fieldwork package, data collection completion package, draft assessment report and presentation, final assessment report, executive summary, policy brief, recommendations matrix, cleaned datasets, codebooks, anonymized transcripts, research tools, and supporting documentation. The contract duration is five (5) months, commencing in October 2026 and ending in February 2027, under the supervision of the Gender and Development Manager, UNICEF Nigeria, and in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD).
