Description
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome, Italy, hereby solicits proposals for a qualified Service Provider (SP) to successfully implement selected activities of the SDG Programme, which is set to strengthen the capacities of producers, particularly women and youth, in promoting the cowpea, peanut, and market gardening value chains, while advancing inclusive and sustainable agricultural development in the Maradi region of Niger. Under the scope of this Programme, the scope of this tender is divided into two job lots, which will be evaluated and awarded separately: 1) Enabling Environment and Capacity Development. This lot focuses on creating favorable conditions for the sustainable economic participation of women and youth in the cowpea, peanut, and market gardening value chains in Maradi, Niger. Activities include advocacy and awareness campaigns, institutional strengthening, nutrition promotion, public-private dialogue, and financial inclusion initiatives. The selected service provider will support the establishment of processing groups, train community nutrition relays, facilitate stakeholder engagement, strengthen local governance and market access, and promote access to finance for women and young entrepreneurs. The objective is to build capacities, strengthen institutions, improve nutrition outcomes, and create an enabling environment that supports inclusive and resilient rural development. 2) Value Chain Development. This lot focuses on strengthening agricultural production systems and enhancing the performance of targeted value chains through technical interventions and infrastructure development. Activities include the rehabilitation of degraded land using the Biological Recovery of Degraded Land (BDL) approach, construction and rehabilitation of storage facilities, training producer organizations on harvesting and post-harvest management practices, and dissemination of successful approaches and lessons learned. The selected service provider will support women and youth in accessing productive assets, improving agricultural productivity, reducing post-harvest losses, and increasing market opportunities, thereby enhancing the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of local agri-food value chains INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ACCESS RFP/ITB DOCUMENTS: In order to have access to the Tender Documents, it is necessary to register in UNGM portal (www.ungm.org).
