Individual Consultancy:. Assessment of Care Provision through Cooperatives and Social and Solidarity Economy Entities in Refugee Hosting Counties in Kenya

Dear Bidder, The International Labour Organization (ILO) seeks a consultant to conduct a national assessment of care provision through cooperatives and other Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) entities in Kenya, with particular focus on refugee-hosting counties. The assignment will examine the policy, legal, regulatory and institutional environment for care provision through cooperatives and SSE entities; map key stakeholders and existing initiatives; assess financial and non-financial support mechanisms; and identify opportunities to strengthen care services while promoting decent work and economic inclusion. The consultant will undertake desk research, key informant interviews, focus group discussions and stakeholder consultations, analyse opportunities for pilot interventions, and prepare an assessment report, advocacy brief and validation workshop presentation. The assignment will generate recommendations on policy, practice and pilot testing approaches aimed at expanding sustainable, inclusive and community-based care solutions through cooperative and SSE models.
