Long Term Agreement (LTA) for Water Well Maintenance, Deepening and Associated Works in UNIFIL Positions in Area of Operations and in UNIFIL, HQ, Naqoura

1. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) requires the service of Long-Term Agreement (LTA) of a qualified and experienced Contractor for maintenance, deepening and associated works of the operational water wells, as and when required basis, at various UNIFIL positions in Area of Operations (AO) and UNIFIL, HQ, Naqoura in South Lebanon. 2. UNIFIL has 14 Nos, own water wells depth ranging from 100-800m with 10, 12” diameter and 5mm thick mild steel casing. The rotary pipes installed are ranged from 2, 2 ½, 3, 4” diameter with rotary threads. At present, the yield of wells in South Lebanon and aquifer water levels are reducing, due to continuously increasing the number of wells to cater increased population and the demand of water in the area. Furthermore, the unexpected weather changes and experiencing consecutive dry winters during the last several years extremely hot summers caused higher local water level draw-down creating higher maintenance and deepening requirement for the operational water wells. As such, UNIFIL seeks the service of a qualified and experienced contractor, as and when required basis under a Long-Term Agreement for required maintenance, deepening for additional depth 20-100m in different depth ranges and associated works in the range of depth from 100-800m for the water wells at UNIFIL positions. The Scope of Work includes dismantling 2, 2 ½, 3, 4” diameter pipework and reinstalling the same with 2, 2 ½, 3, 4” diameter existing or new rotary pipe works including supply & installation of new pipe works for replacing old pipes as and when required. In addition, the service of well cleaning and drilling machines for cleaning and additional drilling to deepen the wells by 9 5/8” diameter drilling and installing 8” diameter, 5mm thick liner casings for additional depth drilled. Furthermore, the contractor shall supply and install as when required basis new 3*35, 3*50, 3*70 mm armored electric cable to replace the existing cable with accessories (steel cable holding traps and cable connection materials). 3. This Long-Term Agreement shall be for an initial period of one (1) year from the date of its signature, with an option of one additional (1) year extensions, upon satisfactory performance of the contractor, availability of funds and continuing requirement of UNIFIL. The maximum contract duration shall be two (2) (1+1) years.
