Description

The WFP Nutrition, School Meals and Social Protection Unit seeks to procure specialized technical assistance services for large-scale food fortification (LSFF) programmes in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. The services will support government food control authorities in strengthening regulatory monitoring systems and LSFF evaluation frameworks to ensure that fortified foods comply with mandatory fortification standards and effectively contribute to reducing micronutrient deficiencies among vulnerable population groups. This technical assistance will contribute to the WFP-LACRO project aimed at strengthening the enforcement and evaluation systems of large-scale food fortification programmes in Latin America and the Caribbean and to generate evidence on LSFF effectiveness in LAC.

The technical assistance services will support the WFP-LACRO projects aimed at strengthening enforcement and evaluation systems for Large-Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) programs in Latin America and the Caribbean and to support developing culturally acceptable specialized nutritious foods that will help close nutrient gaps among nutritionally vulnerable groups. Four work streams are presented in work lots.
