Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), invites qualified, experienced, and reputable consultancy firms with demonstrated experience to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for participation in the upcoming Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the below 4 Projects in multiple locations in Karachi and Peshawar, Pakistan. Background: The targeted informal settlements in Karachi and Peshawar face significant deficiencies in water supply, sewerage, drainage, roads, educational facilities and safe, inclusive public spaces. Existing infrastructure is frequently deteriorated, undersized or poorly maintained, limiting reliable access to basic services and affecting public health, safety, mobility and community well-being. To address these challenges, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is implementing a series of infrastructure and basic service improvement projects. These interventions were identified and prioritized by the target communities through a participatory settlement planning process, during which communities developed Strategic Settlement Plans (SSPs) to comprehensively address their development needs and challenges. The objective is to complete, test, commission and hand over all contracted works under each awarded lot in accordance with the approved drawings, technical specifications, BoQ, safeguards requirements and approved work programme, thereby improving the safety, resilience and living conditions of vulnerable urban communities in Karachi and Peshawar through reliable basic services and inclusive community infrastructure. Lot 1: Karachi (CE09) a) - Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement b) - Replacement of Existing Water Supply Line c) - Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement Lot 2: Karachi (CE09) a) Rehabilitation of Existing Water Supply Line b) Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement c) Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement d) Solarization of Existing Water Pump and Upgradation of Secondary Water Supply Pipeline e) Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement f) Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement. Niazi Colony g) Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement h) Rehabilitation of Damaged Sewerage Line through Cleaning and RCC Pipe Replacement Lot 3: Karachi (CE10) a) Rehabilitation of Existing Building for School b) Upgradation of Graveyard Boundary Wall with Integrated Urban Street Nook (Shaded Seating and Stepped Platforms) c) Development of Community Recreational Park and connecting street Lot 4: Peshawar (CE01) a) Rehabilitation of the Main Tajabad Asphalt Road, approximately 1,100 metres long b) Construction of the Main Asphalt Road from Park Side to Salfi Masjid, approximately 800 metres long c) Rehabilitation of Existing Open Drain, approximately 5,000 RFT long Works will be implemented under a multi-lot procurement arrangement, with each lot corresponding to a distinct project site. Submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) does not constitute a commitment to submit a bid under the subsequent solicitation. Bidders will have the option, under the ITB, to submit bids for one or more lots, subject to demonstrating the requisite technical capacity, relevant experience, and availability of resources for each lot for which a bid is submitted. Specific Requirements/Information IMPORTANT: This is not a request for submission of bids/proposals. Further details of the technical requirements, scope of work, specifictions, evaluation criteria will be provided under the solicitation stage at a later date. Interested vendors must posses the necessary technical expertise and capacity to provide the required services, as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to participate. Vendors expressing interest must be registered with the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) at minimum of Basic Registration Level. Vendors not registered in UNGM will not be eligible to paricipate in the solicitation at a later stage. Vendors possessing the following attributes are strongly encouraged to participate: (a) Inclusive of persons with disabilities, (b) A demonstrated commitment to achieving gender equality, (c) Woman-owned business status, (d) Originating from developing countries, countries with economies in transition, or least developed countries.
