Description
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome, Italy, hereby solicits proposals for a reputable and competent Service Provider (SP) to support the implementation of rainwater harvesting activities under the Gender Transformative Mechanism in Climate Adaptation (GTM) in Madagascar. The assignment aims to contribute to climate resilience and women’s empowerment by improving household access to water and reducing the time and physical burden associated with water collection, particularly for rural women, through the establishment of sustainable rainwater harvesting systems for 400 vulnerable households in the districts of Tuléar II (Atsimo-Andrefana Region) and Ihosy (Ihorombe Region). The selected Service Provider is expected to work closely with beneficiary communities, the PROGRES PMU, the IFAD Country Office (ICO), the GTM team and local authorities, technical service providers, and other relevant stakeholders. The estimated duration of the assignment is nine (9) months, with the Final Technical Report due in Month 9. Implementation is planned to start in November 2026.
