EOI/007/2026: PROVISION OF MILLING SORGHUM AND WHEAT IN ELDORET .
The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) is the food-assistance agency of the United Nations and is the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.
In order to complement its operations in Kenya, UNWFP seeks to engage companies with the pre-requisite capacity to store, mill, handle, bag and load for subsequent inland transport, wheat and sorghum grain imported by UNWFP.
The companies to be engaged will need to comply with the following minimum listed below.
1. Have a minimum of 3 years’ operational experience.
2. Geographical location of the milling plant should either be in Eldoret Town of Uasin Gishu County or within its environs upto a 30 km radius.
3. Milling capacity of 200 mt per day (wheat flour output).
4. Milling capacity of 200 mt per day (sorghum flour output).
4. In possession of any of the following certification.
-ISO 9001: 2015
-ISO 2200:2018
-FSSC-22000
5. Have an in-house laboratory for analytical testing.
6.Sufficient warehouse space for storage of grain and milled flour (capacity of 2,500 mt).
7. Capacity to initiate a lead time of 24-48 hrs of having a finished product after arrival of grain and bags markings.
8. Capacity to undertake fortification and addition of micronutrients to the final product.
9. Capacity to take custody and arrange for disposal using relevant internal procedures of the bran extracted from the milling process.
10. Capacity to achieve 80% conversion rate from wheat grain to milled flour.
11. Capacity to achieve 90% conversion rate from sorghum grain to milled flour.
UNWFP invites qualified milling companies who are duly registered and authorized in accordance with prevailing laws in Kenya to submit their information for consideration for shortlisting.
Procedure of participation in the shortlisting process.
1.Potential companies that feel they meet the outlined requirements must confirm their interest by filling a registration form.
2.The registration form will be accessed by visiting the following site:

3. The online registration form must be filled by 1200 hrs. on 18 August 2026.
4.Only interested parties who will provide their details via the registration form will be invited to participate in the tendering process.
5.Kindly note that no documents are required at this stage, companies that express interest by registering will be contacted at a later stage to provide required documentation as well as be provided with further information on the shortlisting procedure.

No rates/prices/documents are required at this stage and this invitation does not bind the World Food Programme to issue any tenders or contracts to the companies expressing their interest.
