Support for community stabilization in Aleppo Governorate

Syria is at a critical stage of recovery after more than fifteen years of conflict, which significantly affected social cohesion, economic development, public services, and community resilience. As communities continue to recover, there is an increasing need to strengthen locally led initiatives that promote inclusion, economic empowerment, peaceful coexistence, civic engagement, and sustainable pathways to resilience. Recovery efforts are guided by national priorities aimed at restoring essential services, rebuilding trust between communities and institutions, supporting social stability, and fostering self-reliance. In line with these priorities, IOM supports interventions that strengthen community resilience, social cohesion, and community-led recovery through partnerships with local civil society actors.

Through this Call for Expression of Interest, IOM seeks to support 4–6 local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), grassroots organizations, community groups and NGOs operating in Aleppo Governorate to design and implement community-led initiatives that contribute to social cohesion, stabilization, inclusion, and resilience. Grants are intended to empower local actors to address community priorities while promoting positive engagement among internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, host communities, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and diverse ethno-religious groups.
