Introduction

UNDP supports countries in advancing sustainable development and implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through integrated policy, technical and programme support. In the area of biodiversity finance, UNDP’s Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) provides countries with a structured methodology to identify biodiversity finance gaps, assess existing expenditures and financing mechanisms, review subsidies and incentives, and develop practical finance solutions aligned with national biodiversity priorities.

The main objective of the assignment is to support UNDP Bahrain, SCE and national stakeholders in developing and validating Bahrain’s first National Biodiversity Finance Plan, in accordance with the latest BIOFIN methodology and in alignment with Bahrain’s national biodiversity priorities and international commitments.
