The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Pakistan, invites qualified, experienced, and reputable registered construction firms to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for participation in the upcoming tender for the Construction and Rehabilitation of Water Supply schemes in 4 settlements (one in Peshawar and three in Karachi) Pakistan Background: The targeted informal settlements face significant challenges in accessing adequate water supply services, particularly safe drinking water. Existing water supply systems, where available, are often deteriorated, poorly maintained, and unable to meet the needs of the growing population. As a result, residents experience severe difficulties in obtaining reliable and safe water for domestic use. To address these challenges, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is implementing a series of infrastructure and basic service improvement projects. These interventions were identified and prioritized by the target communities through a participatory settlement planning process, during which communities developed Strategic Settlement Plans (SSPs) to comprehensively address their development needs and challenges. The objective of the intervention is to improve the living conditions of persons in the targeted settlements by increasing access to safe drinking water through rehabilitation, upgrading, and expansion of water supply infrastructure. The project will be for the Construction and Rehabilitation of Water Supply systems in the following areas: Lot 1. Bara Qadeem - Installation of Solar Water pump and borehole Lot 2: Ghousabad: a) Drinking water supply scheme including drilling & development of tube well (1020 feet) and repair & renovation of pump house at Ghafoor town, Ghousabad. b) Provision and installation of electrical pumping machinery and repair & renovation of pump house at Khan colony, Masjid Rasool street, Ghousabad. c) Provision and installation of electrical pumping machinery repair & renovation of pump house at Mirza farm Ghafoor town, Ghousabad. d) Drilling & development of tube well (1020 rft), provision & installation of solar pumping machinery and Pump House repair / renovationat sabir street Near Farooqia Masjid, Ghousabad. Lot 3: Wasay - Drilling & development of tube well (1120 feet), construction of pump house (10 x 12 feet) along with repair of boundary wall, provision & installation of electrical pumping machinery and pipe line network extension at Wasay town. Lot 4. Kakozai - Drilling & development of tube well (1120 feet), construction of pump house (10 x 12 feet) along with boundary wall, provision & installation of solar pumping machinery and pipe line network at Kakozai town Specific Requirements/Information Interested vendors must posses the necessary technical expertise and capacity to provide the required services, as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to participate. Vendors expressing interest must be registered with the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) at minimum of Basic Registration Level. Vendors not registered in UNGM will not be eligible to paricipate in the tender exercise at a later stage. Vendors interested in participating in the planned solicitation process should submit the Vendor Response Form of this EOI electronically (through the link available on the next page) before the closing date set forth above. IMPORTANT:Please note that this REOI is not an invitation for submission of tenders. Its purpose is to identify companies that would be interested and eligible to participate in the solicitation when issued and no documents are required from companies at this time. UNON will examine the outcome of this request for EOI and will consider those companies that have expressed their interest . UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this Request for EOI does not automatically guarantee your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued.
