HQ26NF180 for Financial Technical Assistance Services for the World Food Programme’s Financial Service Providers under the SheCan programme
The WFP Global Accelerator and Ventures, based in Munich, Germany, is the World Food Programme’s flagship platform for sourcing, supporting, and scaling high‑impact innovations that contribute to ending hunger and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Established to strengthen WFP’s ability to test and scale new approaches, the Accelerator applies lean startup and human‑centred design methods, provides access to funding, technical expertise, and global partnerships, and works with WFP staff, startups, entrepreneurs, and external partners to translate innovative ideas into solutions deployed across diverse humanitarian and development contexts worldwide.
The SheCan programme, an initiative from WFP INNA implemented by WFP Country Offices, aims to address barriers to financial inclusion by expanding access to affordable and sustainable finance for smallholder farmers and micro entrepreneurs, with a strong focus on women. Through a blended-finance model, SheCan works with Financial Service Providers (FSPs), including microfinance institutions, to strengthen their capacity to deliver inclusive, viable, and scalable financial products, supported by tailored technical assistance.
To support this objective, WFP seeks qualified service providers to deliver technical assistance and capacity building services to FSP partners, including:
- Alternative credit risk assessment methodologies
- Loan product design tailored to underserved populations
- Climate risk integration and insurance-linked products
- Capacity building and operational efficiency improvements
WFP invites eligible suppliers to express their interest in providing the requested services.
