Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Afghanistan, invites qualified, experienced, and reputable registered construction firms to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for participation in the upcoming tender for the Construction of Community Shelters at Nam Lau and Muong Chanh, Son La Province Vietnam. It should be noted that is not a tender and no documents are required at this stage. Background: The project “Emergency support to post-disaster recovery and rehabilitations of mountainous communities in Son La Province, Viet Nam” was designed to support the most vulnerable households in the highland districts hit by the July 2024 flash-floods and landslides. All components take an integrated approach—linking evidence-based risk analysis, inclusive planning and community-driven implementation—to raise climate-resilience knowledge and strengthen protective measures through better institutional capacity and local participation. This construction project will be for the contruction and rehabilitation of two resilient community shelters: 1.Community Shelter at Muong Chanh with a capacity of 150 persons 2.Community Shelter Nam Lau with a capacity of 100 persons. The Contractor shall carry out all construction and installation works in accordance with the approved technical and construction drawings, relevant Vietnamese construction standards and regulations, and the environmental and social safeguard requirements of UN-Habitat. The works include the construction of the community shelter and all associated architectural, structural, and finishing works necessary to ensure that the facility functions effectively both as a daily community hub and as a safe emergency shelter during disaster event. This will inolve new contructions and rennovation of existing buildings, external infrastructure, slope stabilization works, resilient landscape development, rainwater harvesting systems, renewable energy systems, and associated supporting infrastructure. Specific Requirements/Information Interested vendors must posses the necessary technical expertise and capacity to provide the required services, as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to participate. Vendors expressing interest must be registered with the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) at minimum of Basic Registration Level. Vendors not registered in UNGM will not be eligible to paricipate in the tender exercise at a later stage. An expression of Interest does not guarantee paricipation in the request for proposal as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to pariticpate.
