UNFPA China and Bayer Foundation launched a joint initiative aimed at improving women’s health by empowering primary healthcare workers in rural areas of China. The project seeks to improve the womens lifespan health in underserved rural areas of China through digitally empowering frontline healthcare workers and fostering social innovation.
Through e-learning platforms, rural primary healthcare providers will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality, life-cycle-based health services.
The project adopts a proactive, life-cycle approach to womens health, focusing on key topics such as modern contraceptive knowledge, scientific preparation, common gynecological diseases, and menstrual health etc. This model transitions from reactive treatment to preventive and continuous care, aiming to meet immediate health needs while preserving life-cycle well-being and promoting healthy aging.
The Outcome of the project is improved health outcomes for rural women and youth in underserved communities through digitally enabled and socially innovative solutions that enhance the knowledge, capacity, and service delivery of rural primary healthcare providers.
