The United Nations Office for Project Services (hereinafter referred to as UNOPS) is pleased to invite prospective bidders to submit bid for the the Supply ,Installation, Commissioning and Training of 600Mtr & 350Mtr Water well drilling rig with tools ,accessories and spareparts for Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands/ MILS- Ethiopia, in accordance with the UNOPS General Conditions of Contract and the Schedule of Requirements as set out in this Invitation to Bid (ITB).

New clarification added: Dear Bidders,Plase find elow clarification questions and response for clarification questions raised Question-We noticed that, in the 2nd amendment dated on 29.06.2026, you now require the following sentence to be included in the control panel description:"The control panel should be additionally operated by Radio Remote Control." Could you please clarify exactly what you require?If this means that the drilling rig must be operated also by radio remote control the rig must be fully electric. We would like to point out that this is not a solution we would recommend for a country like Ethiopia where there are several terrain and diverse geological formations. From our experience, a hydraulic drilling rig with fewer electronic components is significantly more reliable over the long term and requires less maintenance, especially in demanding operating conditions like in Ethiopia. We would also like to point out that the previous points in the same control panel section describe a fully hydraulic version without electronic controls. For this reason, the newly added requirement appears to be inconsistent with the rest of the specifications. New clarification added: Clarification Questions, Dear Sirs, On 600 m rig you ask for chains safety factor 5:1 and for 350 m rig 4.5:1 Please note that international and European standards require 3.5:1 We make our machines with 3.5:1, it is possible to make more 4 or 5:1 but we need to make a special design for this machine, which is possible but very expensive. Please let us know if the international standard safety factor 3.5:1 is acceptable.Thank you for your understanding and support. Hence it is 20 days for each of the regions however the total training period for all the Regions shouldn't exceed 20Days.
