Description of the assignment: UNDP is looking for a national legal entity for the assignment: RFQ/2026/003 - Implementation of Riparian Forest Restoration, Cleaning, and Reforestation.

The “Improving Adaptive Capacity and Risk Management of Rural Communities in Mongolia’’ (ADAPT) project funded by the Green Climate Fund was launched in March 2021. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and the United Nations Development Programme for 7 years in Dornod, Sukhbaatar, Zavkhan, and Khovd aimags. 

The objective of the assignment is to implement riparian forest restoration across 486 hectares in Khovd, Dornod, and Sukhbaatar aimags through forest cleaning and salvaging interventions to improve forest condition and resilience while promoting natural regeneration, and to conduct targeted reforestation and enrichment planting on 10 percent of the total area in accordance with national forestry standards. 

This procurement has 4 lots.
  • Lot 1: Riparian forest restoration and cleaning across 184 hectares in Munkhkhairkhan, Chandmani, and Buyant soums of Khovd aimag and reforestation in 16 hectares in Jargalant soum of Khovd aimag.
  • Lot 2: Riparian forest restoration and cleaning across 169 hectares and reforestation in 8.9 hectares in Erdeneburen and Myangad soums of Khovd aimag.
  • Lot 3: Riparian forest restoration and cleaning across 81 hectares and reforestation in 11.9 hectares in Kherlen and Choibalsan soums of Dornod aimag.   
  • Lot 4: Riparian forest restoration and cleaning across 52 hectares and reforestation in 11.9 hectares in Baruun-Urt, Naran, and Dariganga soums of Sukhbaatar aimag.  

Duration: 11 months
