Description
UNICEF has now issued a Request for Proposals] in order to select a supplier for the provision of Services for Minor Repair and Rehabilitation, including WASH facilities, in 165 Public Schools in Four Target Districts of Sindh Following the 2022 floods, the UNICEF Pakistan has provided critical support to the Government of Sindh in rehabilitating schools, WASH facilities, and health infrastructure. Building on these efforts, UNICEF, with support from various donors, plans to further assist the government in the rehabilitation and construction of facilities across the education, health, and WASH sectors. Further, more specifically, greater support will be directed towards the education sector to strengthen school infrastructure, enhance learning conditions, and improve accessibility for students. Additionally, in Sindh, UNICEF serves as the grant agent for both the System Transformation Grant (STG) and the System Capacity Grant (SCG), funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). Under the STG, the Sindh Learning Programme (SLP) has been launched as a four-year initiative targeting four districts: Dadu, Tando Allahyar, Tharparkar, and Umerkot to support School Education and Literacy Department- SELD. To achieve this objective, UNICEF Pakistan seeks the support of qualified engineering firms/vendors with proven field presence and demonstrated experience in education infrastructure interventions to undertake the minor repair and upgradation of schools in selected districts. Key interventions under the SLP include the minor repair and rehabilitation of 165 schools, contributing to improved learning environments, enhanced functionality of existing school infrastructure, and the provision of safer and more inclusive learning spaces. This construction Project is expected to benefit around 25,000 children (50% girls) with adequate educational facilities and sanitation facilities This tender will be run through the UNICEF e-submissions system.
