Call for External Collaborator, Review of the Africa Regional Social Protection Strategy (2021-2025) and development of a new joint ILO-African Union Africa Regional Social Protection Strategy (2026-2030)

Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: This consultancy comprises two phases (i) Review of the Africa Regional Social Protection Strategy (2021–2025); and (ii) Development of a new joint ILO–AU Africa Regional Social Protection Strategy (2026–2030), including a monitoring framework (with input to the revision of the Africa Social Protection Clock), and key elements for a communication strategy. The assignment will combine desk research, stakeholder consultations, and strategic facilitation to ensure that the review and new strategy are evidence-based, inclusive, and aligned with international labour standards and continental priorities. The review and development of the new strategy will consider critical issues in the world of work in Africa and recent global developments. It will ensure coherence with key frameworks such as AU Agenda 2063, the 2030 Agenda, relevant ILO conventions and recommendations, the AU Protocol on the Right to Social Protection (2022), the Global Accelerator, and the Global Coalition for Social Justice.
