Description
The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) intends to identify qualified and experienced vendors for the provision of customs clearance, freight forwarding, inland transportation, cargo handling and other related logistics services for UNSOH operations in Haiti and/or the Dominican Republic. The services will support the door-to-door movement of UN-owned and commercial goods, including but not limited to general cargo, dangerous goods, vehicles, heavy equipment, containers, medical supplies and personal effects, on an as-and-when-required basis. The resulting solicitation is expected to lead to a long-term contract with an initial duration of three (3) years, with the possibility of two (2) one-year extensions, subject to UNSOH mandate, availability of funds and satisfactory contractor performance. Specific Requirements/Information Interested vendors should demonstrate capacity and experience in the following areas, as detailed in the Statement of Requirements (SOR): • Customs clearance services at airports, seaports and land border crossings in Haiti and/or the Dominican Republic; • Freight forwarding and inland transportation (road) of cargo, including containerized and non-containerized shipments; • Handling, loading, offloading, consolidation and deconsolidation of cargo; • Availability of bonded warehouse arrangements and secure storage facilities; • Cold chain and temperature-controlled storage and transportation for medical supplies when required; • Handling and transportation of dangerous goods in compliance with international standards (ICAO/IATA, IMDG, ADR); • Provision of adequate material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts, cranes, low-bed trailers and related accessories; • Ability to mobilize services within 15 calendar days from contract effective date; • Compliance with applicable Haitian and/or Dominican legal, regulatory and licensing requirements; • Availability on a 24-hour / 7-day basis for urgent and critical operational tasking; • Maintenance of adequate insurance coverage for personnel, equipment, cargo loss or damage. The contractor shall be able to support operations under: • Lot 1 – Haiti, and/or • Lot 2 – Dominican Republic.
