New clarification added: Question:Dear Sir/Madam,We would like to seek clarification on the following points to ensure accurate understanding and compliance with your requirements:Scope of WorkIn the Terms of Reference (ToR), the project title indicates installation and commissioning only, whereas the main objective mentions supply, installation, and commissioning. Kindly confirm whether the scope of this tender includes supply of materials in addition to installation and commissioning, or if materials are already available and the contractor is expected to install and commission only.Dripline SpecificationsThe driplines spacing is 40cm which is highly likely to be achieved only with blank driplines and external emitters that are punched and installed on the dripline. This is because the common driplines with inline emitters have 30cm standard spacing and they are readily available within Africa.3. Request for Extension of Submission DeadlineGiven the need for detailed technical review and sourcing of compliant materials, we kindly request an extension of the bid submission deadline, if possible. We appreciate your support and look forward to your clarification to enable us to prepare a compliant and competitive submission.Thank you.Answers:1. Scope of WorkThe scope of this tender includes supply, installation, and commissioning of the complete solar-powered drip irrigation system. As detailed in the Terms of Reference, the contractor is responsible for the full provision of all materials, equipment, and components, in addition to installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of a fully functional system .2. Dripline SpecificationsThe specified 40 cm emitter spacing should be adhered to as per the design requirements. Bidders may propose suitable solutions to achieve this spacing, including the use of blank driplines with external emitters, provided that:The system meets the required hydraulic performance and uniformity,All components comply with the technical specifications, andThe proposed solution ensures durability, efficiency, and ease of maintenance.Alternative approaches may be considered only if they demonstrate equivalent or superior performance and are clearly justified in the bid submission.3.
