Description
The United Nations is seeking Expression of Interest from fully qualified suppliers for an upcoming solicitation for the global provision of Combat Rations Packs (CRPs) as well as Group CRPs (10-Man) in support of approximately 60,000 military personnel and 15,000 civilian personnel in all the United Nations peacekeeping missions worldwide. CRPs 24 hour type are composed of two full meals, plus breakfast, snack, coffe/tea, powdered drink that can sustain one person for a 24 hour period and are suitable for military use under difficult, variable, field and weather conditions. Ration packs are pre-packaged and include a number of different menus that reflect various tastes and cultures. The contractor is required to provide Occidental, Halal, Hindu, Vegan and Vegetarian types of 24 hour ration packs. Patrol CRP types are composed of one full meal and snack, coffee/tea, powder drink suitable for military use under difficult, variable, field and weather conditions. Ration packs are pre-packaged and include a number of different menus that reflect various tastes and cultures. The contractor is required to provide Occidental, Halal, Hindu and Vegetarian types of Patrol packs. 10-Man CRP is a bulk feeding solution intended for use in a field kitchen style catering environment with basic cooking facilities/skills enough to nutritionally sustain ten (10) people for three (3) meals in a 24-hour period. Meal items provided in the CRP-10 Man shall be a combination of tinned and packaged dry rations that require basic preparation and cooking/heating prior to consumption. The contractor is required to provide Occidental, Halal, Hindu types of 10 Man ration packs. The successful vendor will be required to provide all of the options listed above, if requested by the UN. Additional services may be required in the solicitation documents. In order for the vendors to be considered during the formal solicitation of proposals, the requirements listed under "Specific Requirements" have to be met. Formal solicitation will require the submission of bid securities. NOTE: Full and comprehensive details of the UN’s requirement will be provided at the time of formal solicitation of proposals. This would include the UN’s requirements in terms of food specifications, food varieties, food packaging, shelf life requirements, delivery locations, and relevant standards. To the extent possible, it will also include the relevant terms of the contract that will govern the performance of the successful contractor. Specific Requirements/Information A Vendor that is interested to be considered in the planned tender must electronically submit its Vendor Response Form as instructed below. Additionally, the Vendor must submit documentary proof that it has previous experience managing and/or delivering food somewhere in the world. The vendor must submit compliance with this requirement as a pdf file in acceptable and readable language to federico.saiegh@un.org. Acceptable forms of proof include any or all of the following: - copy of valid food safety management certificate; - copy of audited financial statements where the activity of managing or delivering food is explicitly mentioned; - copy of an agreement with a sub-supplier that has proven experience delivering food, alongside the corresponding proof for the sub-supplier. In its email submission, the vendor must indicate: (1) its full registered business name; and (2) its UNGM number. The UN reserves the right to reject Expressions of Interest documents that are incomplete or are received after the stated deadline. Please read carefully every section of this document. Interested vendors are free to share with the UN any suggestions they may have on the planned solicitation which they think would be more beneficial for the UN. This can be submitted together with the requirement under number 1 (above) or can sent to the UN at a later time. To note, the UN may or may not consider such suggestions at its sole discretion.
