Description
The United Nations (UN), Department of Operational Support (DOS) has a requirement for a qualified Contractor to provide Pest & Vector Control and Ground Maintenance Services in the compounds of Port-au-Prince, United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). These consist of twelve (12) land parcels of approximately 76 hectares (ha) in total. The Contract shall be valid for a period of two (2) years with the option of two one-year (1) extensions (2+1+1), at the sole discretion of the UN, subject to mandate extension, availability of funds and Contractor's performance. The Contractor shall provide the following services: 1. Pest & Vector Control Services The objective is to reduce the number of insects or animal vectors to prevent disease/health hazard in accordance with WHO recommendations and to sustainably control the population of vectors.. The outline of the services/activities required are as follows; a. Surveys: The Contractor shall conduct surveys of all UNSOH compounds and develop a schedule for Pest & Vector Control (PVC) Services for each area of operation. The schedule will be finalized and implemented after agreement by both parties. b. Regular/routine provision of Pest & Vector Control services. c. Provision of On-call Pest & Vector Control Services. The Contractor shall provide urgent PVC services in the event of unforeseen situations that require immediate attention. d. On-call disinfection of required areas, vehicles, aircraft and baggage: all possible contact areas. 2. Ground maintenance Services Provision of daily routine ground maintenance services, that include general outdoor cleaning, trimming, planting trees and waste collection. Ground maintenance is a continuous routine work activated through issuance of a monthly Task Order. Activities required are as follows: a. Grounds shall be cleared of waste, litter, carcasses, dead trees or other debris. b. Maintenance of grassed areas by watering, cutting, raking and weeding as required. Trees and shrubs shall be trimmed (and properly disposed of) and maintained to keep camp area neat in appearance. c. Interior courts, grounds, sidewalks, entrance and exit ways adjacent to buildings shall be cleaned using a brush or washed as required. d. Walkways and building entrances shall be kept clear of mud, sand or debris so as not to obstruct foot and vehicle traffic. e. During the rainy season, all drains, collection points, outfalls and gullies shall be kept clear and free flowing. 3. Activation Services Based on the type of required activity, UNSOH will activate the services as follows: a. Pest & Vector Control Services Issuance of a monthly Task Order (TO) for activities to be performed in and around UNSOH compounds including: i. Provision of Regular Pest & Vector Control Services. The Contractor shall provide regular day-to-day PVC services in all the UNSOH compounds. ii. Provision of On-call Pest & Vector Control Services. The Contractor shall provide urgent PVC services in the event of unforeseen situations that require immediate attention. c. On-call disinfection of required areas, vehicles, aircraft and baggage: all possible contact areas. b. Ground Maintenance Service: Ground maintenance services shall be activated by issuance of a monthly Task Order for activities to be performed in and around UNSOH compounds including: i. Develop and maintain regular grounds maintenance schedule for all compounds. The schedule shall be reviewed jointly with UNSOH monthly. ii. Carry out regular checks on the grounds within the camps and perform general ground maintenance works as per the plan in the SOR. iii. Obtain feedback from clients after completion of tasks and report any concerns/requests arising from clients to UNSOH Responsible Officer.
