Civil Works for rehabilitation of Irrigation Canals in South Gezira locality – Gezira State

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Sudan intends to implement civil works for the rehabilitation of irrigation canals in South Gezira locality, Gezira State. The project aims to restore the functionality and efficiency of key irrigation infrastructure through excavation, desilting of main canals, and re-compaction of canal beds using selected materials in line with Ministry of Irrigation specifications.

The scope of works includes rehabilitation of multiple canal sections, installation of steel sheets for duct canals, and associated site preparation and safety measures. The project is expected to be completed within 180 days and will contribute to improving water management, supporting agricultural productivity, and enhancing the resilience of local communities.
