Description
Jordan is currently revising its Third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) under the leadership of the Ministry of Environment (MoEnv) and with technical support from UNDP. The NDC 3.0 process presents a strategic opportunity to integrate the decent work and sustainable enterprise dimensions into Jordan’s climate ambition. The International Labour Organization (ILO), through its Just Jordan initiative, is supporting Jordans just transition efforts. As part of this effort, the ILO is working with key social partners to support structured inputs into the NDC revision process. In coordination with the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI), the ILO seeks to support the development of an employers’ position paper that reflects the perspectives of industrial stakeholders on climate transition priorities. The process will be designed as a collaborative and learning-oriented exercise, enabling JCI to actively engage in the development of the paper while strengthening its capacity to articulate structured policy inputs into national climate policy discussions.
