IC - Preparation of the St. Kitts and Nevis’ 7th National Report

Description of the Assignment: UNDP Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean office wishes to engage an experienced consultant to prepare, in a participatory manner, the Seventh National Report for the country, under the leadership of the Department of Environment (DoE) within the Ministry of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment, the CBD National Focal Point (NFP), and through a stakeholder coordination mechanism and working groups. The consultant’s work will be informed by the template found in Decision 16/32 Annex I as well as relevant CBD decisions.
Period of services: 60 days of actual work spread over a period of 3 months
Professional qualifications: Advanced degree in Environmental Management, Geographic, Economics, Social Sciences; and/or related areas.
Professional Experience:
•Minimum of 3 to 5 years of previous experience working with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, regional or international development organizations, such as UN agencies on Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
•Previous experience of 1 to 3 years in leadership for the development of multi-stakeholder initiatives that promote national socio-environmental policies and strategies
•At least 2 years of experience in biodiversity policy, environmental reporting, or preparation of national or international reports, including proven familiarity with the Convention on Biological Diversity reporting requirements
Kwoledge and skills:
•Strong knowledge of biodiversity, environmental management, and the Convention on Biological Diversity reporting framework.
•Proven ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize technical and policy-related information from multiple sources.
•Demonstrated experience preparing national, regional, or international environmental reports.
•Competence in using online reporting tools and managing structured data entry with accuracy.
•Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
•Ability to coordinate effectively with government agencies and stakeholders to address data gaps and clarifications.
•Good time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple inputs.
•Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline. Any request for clarification must be sent in writing via messaging functionality in the portal. UNDP will respond in writing including an explanation of the query without identifying the source of inquiry.
