Description

Scope of the study

The study will cover the period from February 2022 to date, covering all the project locations: Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Jonglei, Lakes, and Upper Nile. The study will cover programme conceptualization, design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, and engage all key project stakeholders.  Document review of all relevant documentation. This would include a review of the project document (contribution agreement); Project Appraisal Reports, theory of change and results framework; annual work plans; progress reports; supervision missions, results-oriented monitoring reports; mid-term review; minutes of project board meetings; and technical/financial monitoring reports, Contracts, project outputs/deliverables, etc.

 

Objectives

Specific Tracer Study objectives are:

         i.            To assess the extent to which the project has contributed to improving the employability of youth and women beneficiaries.

       ii.            To evaluate the project’s impact on job creation and income generation among trained youth and women.

      iii.            To measure improvements in business skills and entrepreneurial capacities developed through the project.

      iv.            To determine the level of access to finance for youth- and women-led MSEs facilitated by the project.

       v.            Evaluate how the Project’s interventions- training, coaching, business development services- enhanced graduates’ ability to identify and take on with market opportunities.

      vi.            Identify gaps in market access and information despite program support, to inform future interventions.

    vii.            To examine the project’s contribution to strengthening private sector participation of youth and women entrepreneurship.

   viii.            To evaluate the enabling environment for the growth and sustainability of youth- and women-led enterprises resulting from project interventions.

    ix.            To identify gaps and lessons learned to inform the design and implementation of future youth and women entrepreneurship development programmes especially those that integrate capacity building, business development services, and access to finance.
