Description
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with more than 190 member countries. Since its inception, FAO has worked to improve nutrition, increase agricultural productivity, raise the standard of living in rural populations and contribute to global economic growth. Achieving food security for all is at the heart of FAO's efforts – to make sure people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. As part of this effort, the FAO Regional Office for Africa, aims to strengthen the digital literacy of young livestock producers to effectively use digital tools for production and health management, marketing, agribusiness management, and commercial expansion. By integrating hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure visits, the project will promote innovation, resilience, and competitiveness among youth-led livestock enterprises. This intervention aligns with Ghana’s National Youth Policy and Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s Youth in Agriculture Programme (YIAP) strategies to support youth employment and agribusiness development. Please refer to the attached Invitation to Bid (ITB) document for detailed Information.
