Description
The United Nations (UN) intends to establish a global systems contract for the supply of UN Shoulder Patches and UN Brassards featuring an embroidered emblem, for an initial period of three (3) years with the UN's sole option to extend for two (2) additional one-year periods (3+1+1), subject to satisfactory contractor performance. UN Shoulder Patches and Brassards are issued by the UN to military, police, and other uniformed personnel deployed by UN Troop and Police Contributing Countries to serve at UN duty stations worldwide. The items form part of the official UN uniform accoutrement kit and are worn by personnel in conjunction with their national service uniforms. The UN Shoulder Patch and Brassard reflect UN branding, including the emblem and signature blue color, and must be manufactured in strict compliance with UN technical specifications. Detailed specifications and other contractual terms and conditions shall be outlined in the upcoming Invitation to Bid (ITB). Uniformed personnel may be deployed to global peacekeeping operations and special political missions (https://www.unmissions.org), as well as to locations including UN Headquarters in New York and the UN Global Service Center (UNGSC) in Brindisi. Purchase orders will be issued periodically on an as-needed basis by UNGSC to replenish centralized stock, or as required by the relevant UN Secretariat entities. Delivery terms shall be FCA (Incoterms 2020; Bidder to specify Port of Exit for air and sea), within 60 calendar days from receipt of purchase order. The indicative estimated annual demand is approximately 392,253 Shoulder Patches and 65,125 Brassards. To be eligible for contract award, a bidder must be either a manufacturer or an authorized dealer for the offered product. The manufacturer must demonstrate at least three (3) years of international experience producing and supplying similar textile or uniform items manufactured to client specifications. The bidder must likewise have at least three (3) years of demonstrated experience supplying similar types and volumes of textile or uniform goods at the international level. Both the bidder and the manufacturer (if different entities) must maintain an internationally recognized quality management system compliant with ISO 9001 standard or an equivalent standard. Bidders are advised that UN shoulder patch and brassard are controlled items, therefore, private sale or distribution of surplus production is strictly prohibited. These products may be sold exclusively to authorized UN entities against valid purchase orders. Specific Requirements/Information Companies that wish to participate in the upcoming tender are requested to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) by submitting the electronic Vendor Response Form as per below instructions. Suppliers must be duly registered as a UN Secretariat vendor in the United Nations Global Marketplace (www.ungm.org) at the Basic Level or above to participate in the upcoming tender. Vendors are advised that this EOI does not constitute a solicitation. The UN reserves the right to change or cancel this requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process.
