New clarification added: Clarification QuestionWe seek clarification regarding the pricing of equipment for the Construction of buildings at the Centre for Vocational Excellence in Tourism at Malawi Institute of Tourism.Kitchen Equipment: Drawing page 44 of ITB_2026_61285_Arch_DWGs_MIT details a Kitchen Equipment list and design schedule. We need confirmation on whether these specific pieces of equipment should be priced by the bidder. If they are to be priced, please indicate the corresponding item number in the Bill of Quantities (BoQ).Laundry Equipment: Similarly, the drawings include items related to laundry equipment, but we were unable to locate a corresponding entry or line item in the BoQ. Please clarify if these items are to be priced and, if so, where they are referenced in the BoQ.Clarification ResponseThis is to confirm that kitchen equipment and laundry equipment are not part of this tender. These items have not been included in the Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and should therefore not be priced by the bidder

New clarification added: The below clarifications were responded to through the prebid meeting minutes shared with Amendment 1 We cannot find the drawings in the system. - The document ITB/2026/61285 - Drawings for Malawi Institute of Tourism contains a link to a folder that contains all the drawings for this ITBThe bid documents specify a requirement for a defects insurance cover equivalent to 20% of the contract sum, with a duration of up to 5 years. Given that this percentage is relatively high and the duration is longer than typical for comparable projects, could the insurance amount (percentage) and/or the duration (5 years) be reduced? - Kindly note that the bidding documents clearly stipulate a defects insurance cover equivalent to 20% of the contract sum, with a duration of five (5) years. These requirements were established after due consideration of the project’s scope, risk profile, and long-term performance expectations. As such, the insurance percentage and duration form part of the mandatory tender conditions and will remain unchanged. Bidders are therefore required to comply fully with the specified requirement in their submissionsShould the performance statement include contracts that are completed, or those that are currently underway?- The Performance Statement should include contracts that have been completed in accordance with returnable schedule 0.7 Performance StatementMay we have the CAD file of the mechanical drawings - The technical documentation issued as part of the tender package — including the mechanical drawings, specifications, schedules, and Bills of Quantities — provides all necessary details required for bidders to prepare and submit a responsive and competitive bid.Bidders are expected to base their pricing on the issued tender documents and to undertake their own quantity take-offs where required, particularly given that the BoQ items are presented as composite items.Accordingly, CAD files will not be issued at this stage. The information contained within the tender package is deemed sufficient for the purpose of bid preparation.
