Objective of the consultancy:

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to identify a qualified external consultancy/specialized firm to develop a landscape document on newborn health products and service delivery innovations, with a focus on care in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Qualification of Firm and Consultants:

Unitaid seeks services of external experts/specialized firm with the following skills and technical qualifications and experience, in both firm and the proposed team members. The proposed team working on the project should have following experience (one team member may possess more than one of the listed requirements):

Essential experience and educational requirements

1. The team members should have an advanced level university degree in public health or medicine or the equivalent with minimum of 8-10 years’ work experience in global public health.

2. At least 8 years’ strong experience in developing technical reports, and other communication materials for a range of audiences.

3. At least 8 years’ strong experience working on maternal and newborn health, with a focus on low- and middle-income country settings, and a well-established network of contacts in industry, academia, international agencies, government, etc. relevant to the area of focus.

4. Demonstrated strong experience in horizon scanning for new technologies in global health.

Desirable experience

1. Working knowledge of Unitaid and the World Health Organization

2. Demonstrated strong experience working in LMICs in areas of MNH products access including products development and introduction, market shaping, procurement, medicines regulations, commodity financing and supply chain management.
