Description
Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: The study aims to analyse Bilateral Labour Migration Agreements (BLMAs) between selected countries in Africa and the Arab States to critically assess the BLMA cycle (preparation; negotiation, including signature and ratification; implementation; monitoring and evaluation) for BLMAs concluded between the Africa and Arab States labour migration corridor. Focus on the study will be on the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania (East Africa);, and Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal (East and West Africa); Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates (Gulf Cooperation Council countries), and Jordan and Lebanon. The study should provide recommendations for improving the BLMA cycle along this migration corridor, and how major protection gaps in current agreements can best be addressed using a sub-regional or regional approach. In line with the FAIRWAY Programme’s ‘gender transformative agenda', the recommendations should provide actionable measures to ensure that BLMAs can help address and identify underlying causes of gender-based inequalities. Please note that if travel is required for this assignment, the necessary travel costs will be covered by the ILO. If you are interested, please express interest and follow the instructions attached to consult the detailed terms of reference and other relevant information in the ILO e-sourcing platform. Please submit your proposal before the specified deadline. Thank you.
