New clarification added: Request for ClarificationWhile all clearances are contractually the responsibility of the contractor, we kindly seek clarification on whether UNOPS will provide a Tax exemption Letter, given that the end user continues to refer this obligation to the Government when procurement is undertaken through UNOPS. In addition, for the procurement and delivery of such vehicles into Somalia, it is a mandatory requirement to obtain a request letter from the end user in order to secure the necessary permit from the relevant ministry. We therefore request confirmation on whether UNOPS will issue the required request letter to enable us to process and obtain the permit.UNOPS ResponseAs the beneficiary of the vehicles is not tax-exempt, UNOPS will not provide a tax exemption letter.

New clarification added: Request For ClarificationThere is a requirement for nine (9) Double Cab pickups with a 3.0 Ltr Diesel engine LHD configuration. We would like to notify you that after consulting with various suppliers, we came to know that Toyota has stopped production of the Hilux with a 3.0 Ltr engine. I would like to ask if we can offer the Hilux DC with a 2.4 / 2.8 Ltr engine, or if another brand featuring a 3.0 Ltr engine and automatic transmission would be acceptable.UNOPS ResponseA 2.8 litre Engine for the Toyota Hilux is acceptable in this case or another brand featuring a 3.0 Ltr engine, Manual Transmission.

The decision to source from a single dealer for transportation purposes rests solely with the bidder. The tender will be awarded to the offer that is both the lowest priced and most technically acceptable.

Soft-skinned vehicles require benches along the edges of the rear side panels. Seatbelts are required for both.
