SCOPE OF WORKS AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

This document shall be read and understood in conjunction with the BoQ, and design drawings provided. The vendor shall consult the supervising Civil Engineer where clarification is required.

1.     GENERAL

Section 2 “Instructions to Bidders” directs the contractor to the relevant information necessary for pricing the Bills. Therefore, the text contained therein must be read in conjunction with the measured items which shall be priced accordingly. It is assumed that the contractors supervisory and estimating staff are fully conversant with the normal standards of good workmanship and relevant publications of trade and technical organizations.

1.1        Background

This Scope of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for the supply and installation of solar power systems at the Police Training School in Benin, Edo State, as part of the UNDP Police Reform Project. The solarization effort aims to provide sustainable, reliable, and clean energy solutions to key facilities within the training school, including the Police Cottage Hospital, Admin Block A (including the library), the Female Hostel Blocks A and B, and the Male Hostel Blocks A, B, and C. The project will involve the installation of 5kVA, 10kVA and 15kVA solar systems with necessary accessories to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.

1.2        Location

The Supply and Installation of Solar Power Systems will take place at the Police Training School, located within Ogida Barracks, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The coordinates are Latitude: 6.3664, Longitude: 5.5901.  The work will be conducted across several designated buildings and facilities within the Police Training School compound. These include the police cottage hospital, Admin Block A (including the Library at Admin Block B), Female Hostel Blocks A and B, Male Hostel Blocks A, B and C. The map is as shown in Figure 1.
