Invitation to Bid (ITB): Construction of Boreholes and the Installation Solar Submersible Pumping Systems in the West and East Gonja Districts of the Savannah Region (Ghana) for Sustainable Soybean Production.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with more than 190 member countries. Since its inception, FAO has worked to improve nutrition, increase agricultural productivity, raise the standard of living in rural populations and contribute to global economic growth. Achieving food security for all is at the heart of FAO's efforts – to make sure people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. As part of this effort, FAO Support to Soybean Development in Ghana" project is being implemented by FAO under the Global Programme on Green Development of Special Agricultural Products: One Country One Priority Product (hereafter “OCOP”) initiative. The project employs the green production technologies including use of improved certified seeds and inoculants (biofertilizers); green processing and green marketing to harness the potential of soyabean to increase small actors’ resilience and improved livelihoods. Additionally, to contribute to the development of the soybean value chain in Ghana, “The Support to Soybean Development in Ghana" project is collaborating with the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority (GIDA) to establish two solar-powered irrigation systems in the West and East Gonja municipalities to ensure sustainable soybean production in Ghana. In this regard, the FAO Regional Office for Africa, wish to engage a competent Service Provider for the Construction of Boreholes and the Installation Solar Submersible Pumping Systems in the West and East Gonja Districts of the Savannah Region for sustainable soybean production.
